Section 1 - Definition of Theft
A person is guilty of theft if he dishonestly appropriates property belonging to another with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it; and โthiefโ and โstealโ shall be construed accordingly.
Section 7 - Theft
An offence of theft will not exceed a sentence of 7 years.
Section 8 - Robbery
A person is guilty of robbery if he steals, and immediately before or at the time of doing so, and in order to do so, he uses force on any person or puts or seeks to put any person in fear of being then and there subjected to force.
Section 9 - Burglary
This section outlines that someone is guilty if having entered any building or part of a building as a trespasser he steals or attempts to steal anything in the building or that part of it or inflicts or attempts to inflict on any person therein any grievous bodily harm.
Section 12 - Vehicle Theft
This section outlines that it is an offense to take a motor vehicle without prior permission from the owner. It is of higher degree when force is involved.
Section 22 - Handling Stolen Goods
It is an offense to posses stolen goods, with knowledge of it being stolen. This does not apply to law enforcement which posses it as a part of evidence.
Section 25 - Equipped for Stolen Goods
This section outlines that is is an offense to posses equipment that would be used for robbery. This does not apply when on their own private property or abode.
